Support the Future of Black Opera

Dear Valued Supporter,

I wanted to write to you personally to say thank you. Your support of the British Black Classical Foundation has helped us build something truly special — a growing community that believes in talent, opportunity, and the power of music to change lives.

Many of you have been with us on this journey — attending performances, encouraging artists, and helping to create the unique atmosphere that defines BBCF. Quite simply, we could not have come this far without you.

As we look ahead, we are preparing for our flagship event, Voice of Black Opera (VOBO) on the 9th October 2026 at Fairfield Halls, Croydon. A moment where extraordinary singers from across the Commonwealth step onto the stage, are given a platform that can shape their future. Behind every performance there is a story — of talent, determination, and often, limited access to opportunity. VOBO exists to change that.

However, to continue this work and to grow it sustainably, we now need to take an important step forward.

We are seeking to build a small circle of committed supporters who can help provide stability to the Foundation through regular monthly giving. Even modest contributions, given consistently, allow us to plan ahead — supporting artists, delivering programmes, and building a stronger future for the organisation.

A monthly gift would directly help us:

Support emerging singers at a critical stage in their careers

Build the small team needed to run BBCF effectively

Reduce our reliance on uncertain external funding

Ensure VOBO continues to thrive for years to come

If you feel able to support in this way — at any level — it would make a meaningful and lasting difference.

You can set up a monthly or one-off contribution here:

Just as importantly, we would love to welcome you to VOBO and hope you will join us in the audience, continuing to be part of this journey.

This is more than an event — it is a movement to ensure that the future of opera reflects the richness of the world we live in.

Thank you for standing with us.

With warmest regards,
Vincent E. M. Osborne
